Brake Switch & Relays
The Best Brake Switch
We call it that because our customers say it's the best. This adjustable, mechanical switch helps you by getting rid of those undependable hydraulic pressure switches that burn out every year (or more often!). This switch will last because it uses self-cleaning contacts to prevent the carbon build-up that destroys hydraulic switches. Its adjustable design allows it to fit most pre-1960 vehicles, customs and many other later models with through-the-floor brake pedals, no additional brackets needed. And it's waterproof. Stainless hardware, connectors and instructions included.

How do I install this switch

If you're using halogen taillights or conversions, we recommend that you also use a brake switch relay such as our #L07-40, below, to handle the high current and to take the load off of your brake switch.
700R4 Brake Switch/Lock-up
700R4 Brake Switch/lock-up
Got a 700R4 transmission? Got a light car and lots of power?
Want to have that 700R4 convertor locked up at all times
except when the brake switch is on? Here you go. Our Best
Brake Switch with a SPDT relay -when the brakes are off the convertor is locked up, and when they're on, it's not. Just that
simple and easy to install. |

The "TattleTale" TM
Pulsing Panic Stop Brake Light System
You want people to see that you're stopping... ESPECIALLY when it's a panic stop situation! Our "TattleTale"TM System does exactly that. An inertial switch (which is adjustable by you, using our installation bracket) detects panic stop situations and reroutes the brake signal through an electronic pulsator. Under normal braking situations the brake lights react normally. When hard braking occurs, the lights pulsate. Great for 3rd brake lights or systems up to 60 watts (5 amps). Simple and easy to install.

Safety Product of the Year Award by the National Street Rod Association
Watson's StreetWorks is awarded the prestigious New Safety Product of the Year Award by the National Street Rod Association. Chosen from over 170 products entered in the New Products Competition, StreetWork's "Tattle Tale - Pulsing Panic Stop Brake Light System" was selected by a panel of judges made up of street rodders, NSRA representatives and inspectors. Pictured are Carol and Steve Watson with their winning product and Award Plaque.
"The NSRA New Product competition has always been my favorite activity of each season," said Steve Watson. "It allows everyone to showcase their new products to the street rodding world. And to have one of our new items chosen as the best new safety product is extremely gratifying. We want to thank the NSRA and all of the people involved with this program." Their winning product, the "Tattle Tale", senses a panic stop situation and reroutes the brake light signal through a pulsator, causing drivers behind to be immediately alerted to the panic stop situation.

40 Amp Relays
Use our relays to give your circuit "switching power" and to take the strain off of brake switches, fan switches, electronic switches or sensors. We also show you how to use this relay as an anti-theft device.

Also available in a 40 amp SPDT (double throw) relay that lets you switch between two outputs, ON/ON switching. Also can be wired as an anti-theft device with a horn alarm feature so that the horn blows if someone tries to start the car without activating the secret circuit or switch.

40 Amp Relay with Built-in Fuse
The easiest way to add a power circuit that we've ever seen. Just wire the relay between power and the load, add a control switch to trigger the relay and one ground wire... you're done! No need to wire in an extra fuse holder, no problems because all of your fuses are already used. And it's really neat, compact and clean. Size the fuse to your load requirements and the circuit is protected.

Mechanically Latching SPDT Relay
This Single-Pole, Double-Throw relay switches between two different outputs like a standard SPDT relay but does so with only a momentary control pulse and then latches (stays) in the new output until the same momentary pulse is again applied. This allows you to use a momentary grounding switch (works ONLY with grounding switch) for things like your HI/LO beam dimming or any ON/ON switching. Each output is rated at 150 watts (12.5 amps. maximum). Check your specific application for amperage rating needs. Comes with wire leads & instructions.

Polarity Reversing Relays
Polarity Reversing Relays
Power window motors, power trunk lifts, door locks, etc. need to
reverse the direction of rotation of the motor in order to work. This is
done by reversing the voltage polarity to the motor wire leads.
Reversing relays are needed when you want to use a switch that doesn't
automatically switch (reverse) both the positive and ground to the
electric motor (such as a 3-wire switch or remote control).
ALSO when you want to use a remote control with a
5-wire, power window type switch, these relays will prevent the remote
from shorting back through the 5-wire switch. Complete with 30 amp
relays, wire leads.
|
|
NOTE: Before ordering this module to add extra switches you must check the switches that came with your kit. If your kit has 5-wire switches that connect the two motor leads when the switch is in the
off position, this module will not work. Check by doing a continuity
test when the switch is "off". To add power "Down" to a 5-wire system, see our L20W, L25W.
AC Switch Fan Relay
Works with our #L36 Radiator Fan Kit to turn the fan on
when the AC is turned on. An absolute necessity when using both electric
fan and Air Conditioning.

80 AMP High AMP Circuit or Ignition Switch "Relief" Relay (Accessory Feed)
Do you realize that the best ignition switches are rated for 30 amps and some for only 15 amps??? And how many amps of accessories are you using? This relay can give a full 80 amps of accessory power and take the load off the ignition switch. Simple hookup (with ring terminals for aftermarket type switches), 10 gauge wire feeds and connectors. Terrific instructions. Also great as a headlight switch relief relay or for any application that you need 80 amps of switching power.
