If you’re rewiring your VW and adding accessory circuits you need a new ignition switch that has that feature. Oh, yes. And it would be nice if it fit into the original dash hole…AND if it would clear the ash tray brackets. This is a four position switch (Accessory, Off, On, Start) with a 3/4″ shank, two keys and includes ring terminals for the outputs.
